Nursery
Experts agree that it is during a child's early years that the foundations for strong physical and emotional health are established, and that this time can provide children with the resilience and skills necessary to navigate future life's complexities.
Our daily structure and routines strike a balance between focussed, adult-led sessions and extended periods of child-led exploration. Children thrive through play, by observing and interacting with peers, through guided learning, and with direct, purposeful teaching.
We offer a nurturing environment focussed on learning for children aged 3-4 years. Our nursery is open from 7.45am-6pm, for 48 weeks of the year (regular free hours, plus optional breakfast and after school clubs).
Nursery class in a primary school
Studies report that the transition from nursery to primary school is a pivotal milestone in the lives of young children, and research emphasises the impact on academic achievement, cognitive development and wellbeing. This is largely due to the continuity of the environment, relationships, and the curriculum which links in, and is integral part of, the school curriculum.
Our nursery class is housed in a specially designed environment, newly furnished (2025) and with its own dedicated space and entrance; it is, however, fully part of our school as this allows children to get used to their future environment.
